Detroit police wound Cincinnati murder suspect in hotel shootout

The hunt for a man suspected in a quadruple homicide in Cincinnati ended Monday morning near downtown, where the alleged assailant was wounded in a shootout with police.

The Detroit News reports that Chandra Moore, 55, was wanted on a murder warrant for the deadly shooting that occurred at a hotel in Cincinnati on Sunday. Local authorities stepped in based on information that the man was at Rivertown Inn and Suites on East Jefferson, Police Chief James Craig said. 

He wouldn't provide further details about the source of the information, according to The News. TRhe shootout began just before 10 a.m. when the man left his room and spotted officers. 

"He saw our officers doing surveillance, so he pulled out a handgun and opened fire," Craig said. "The officers returned fire, and struck him several times."

No officers were hurt.
